Installation Tools: Wire cutters/crimper; Wire strippers; Clean cloth; Household degreaser.

Installation Pointers:

-2-conductor wire: the + is the positive and the - wire with the lettering/markings is to

mark the negative/ground side.

-Following the guidelines regarding positive and negative connections is important.

-Remember: fuse the positive and switch the positive.

Installation of Main Line

Disconnect the negative terminal of the vehicle’s battery. (Note: you may have to reset the radio and other

accessories in the truck).

Route main line (25’ wire) from the battery to the truck bed. Make sure routing does not obstruct normal

function of the vehicle.

Run the wire into the bed. Most installers do this by running the wire inside the stake bed pocket. Next,

run the wire into the truck bed extending to where you will install the switch, which can be near the very

rear of the truck, near the gate, for maximum convenience.

Installation of LED PODS

Select the mounting location in the vehicle’s truck bed. Most installers place the lights under the bed rail,

centered between the cab and the tailgate, in order to obtain maximum light.

Clean the area thoroughly with a household degreaser, wipe the area with alcohol pad included in the kit,

and then dry it with a clean towel.

Peel the paper off of the double faced tape on the LED POD and apply the POD. Stretch the wire out and

apply the next POD. Continue this process and apply all of the PODs.

Reapply pressure to each POD for proper adhesion.

Follow the same procedure for the other side of the truck bed.

Installation of Additional POD Light Wire

Route additional POD light wire (12’ wire) from the switch to second strand of POD lights. Make sure

the route chosen does not obstruct with the vehicle’s normal functions.

Use the butt connectors to connect the wire to POD light strand. Note: white to white; white w/red tracer

to white w/red tracer

Connect the wire as shown in the diagram.

Route the wire down the stake pocket, under the bed of the truck, and then back up the stake pocket on

the other side in the location where you will install the switch.

Installation of Switch

Select a mounting location for switch, which most likely at the very rear of the truck, near the gate.

Mount the switch so that it is easily accessed.

Clean area where the switch will be mounted with a household degreaser. Then wipe that area with the

alcohol pad supplied with the kit, dry it with a clean towel.

Peel the paper off the tape and mount the switch.

Use tyrap base to secure switch wire, as is necessary.

Connect switch wire as shown in the wire diagram, below. As shown in the diagram, the positive of the

battery is connected to the positive of the switch.

Connect the negative wire from both sides of lights with the yellow butt connector, to the negative of the

switch.

Installation of Fuse Link

Disconnect the negative terminal of the vehicles battery.

Cut the supplied fuse link, crimp 1 blue butt connector to one end, and crimp a ring terminal on the other.

Crimp fuse link assembly to Main line (white wire) and connect ring terminal to Positive side of battery.

Crimp ring terminal to the Main line (white w/ black lettering) and Connect to Negative side of battery.

Make sure all connections are secure and all bare wires are covered before proceeding any further.

Reconnect the negative terminal to the battery, insert 10 amp fuse, and turn on the switch to test.

To troubleshoot, inspect the system in the following order: ground wire; battery connection; switch

connection; LED connection; and wire polarity.
